Lisa DeBartolo hugs Branden McDaniel, the Valedictorian of the first graduating class (2009) of Brooks-DeBartolo Collegiate High School. The DeBartolo Family Foundation awarded McDaniel, a 4-year, 120-credit hour Florida pre-paid scholarship. He will be attending the University of Florida.
Since 2001, the Foundation has awarded more than $450,000 to area students.

DEBARTOLO FAMILY FOUNDATION HONORS 30 AREA STUDENTS WITH COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS
Total of $75,000 Awarded to Tampa Bay’s Graduating Seniors
TAMPA, FL (May 12, 2011) – The DeBartolo Family Foundation awarded 30 Tampa Bay area graduating seniors with $2,500 college scholarships through the organization's annual high school scholarship program. Since 2001, the DeBartolo Family Foundation has awarded $525,000 to area seniors entering college who have achieved academic excellence despite certain financial and personal obstacles.
"The DeBartolo Family Foundation is proud to reward these students for their accomplishments in the classroom," said Lisa DeBartolo, Executive Vice President of DeBartolo Holdings, LLC. "We reviewed more applications than ever and are very impressed with this year's scholarship class."
More than 230 students applied for this year's scholarships totaling $75,000. The 30 recipients, who may use the funds for any college-related expenses, include:
